Employment for airline and commercial pilots are projected to grow 6% from 2021-2031, with a median salary of $134,600. After earning your commercial multi-engine rating, a flight instructor rating allows you to work while building more flight hours. With an FAA flight instructor rating, you’re able to provide in-flight instruction to student pilots and get paid for it while building flight time to become an airline pilot. Many newly licensed pilots earn their flight instructor ratings such as CFI so they can earn up to 800 hours or more of flight time in preparation for their airline career. If you earn your private, instrument, and commercial licenses from CFA, and your CFI from any school, we’ll guarantee you a job interview. This will allow you to earn additional flight hours to be hired as a pilot. Many newly licensed pilots earn their flight instructor ratings so they can teach students and earn up to 1,000 hours or more of flight time while getting paid!
Our Certified Flight Instructor is an FAA Part 61 program that is a three month course that gives you the CFI, CFII, and MEI ratings (each of these is roughly one month in length). You can begin this program once you've successfully completed an airline pilot training program including earning your Private Pilot License, Instrument Rating, and Commercial Multi-Engine Rating.
